ABOUT ME

Welcome to my blog!
My name is Maritha, a registered nurse, wife and mom of two amazing kids.
I’m also living with two complex diagnoses: ADHD and Bipolar Disorder.
I’ve created this blog to chronicle my journey through life, the challenges, the triumphs and everything in between.
As a mother, I know how essential it is to feel safe and comfortable when seeking support, and that’s what I want to offer my readers.
I want you to feel comfortable and welcome as you navigate this space and explore my stories. They will help you during your journey.
When I was diagnosed with ADHD and Bipolar Disorder, I expected my life would change forever.
While that may have been true, I’ve learned that these diagnoses don’t have to define me.
One of the tools I use to manage my symptoms is creativity.
As a lover of art and writing, creating allows me to positively channel my energy and emotions and has become an essential therapy source.
Navigating life with ADHD and Bipolar Disorder can be challenging, but I’ve learned several tactics that have helped me overcome obstacles.
Being organized, maintaining a routine, and practising mindfulness has become my essential tools.
I’m excited to share with you the different strategies that have worked for me and those that haven’t, hoping they will help you too.
Being a mom with ADHD and Bipolar Disorder is tough.
Nevertheless, it’s also rewarding to overcome challenges, set a positive example for my kids and see the strength I didn’t know I had.
It can be daunting to be a parent when your symptoms might take over without warning, so I aim to share how I’ve coped with this and
highlight the seriousness of these diagnoses while also embracing the positive moments.
If you’re a mamma like me who’s also trying to balance motherhood with ADHD and Bipolar Disorder, I encourage you to connect with me and other moms in the same situation.
Together, we can learn from and support each other and aim to break the negative stigma surrounding mental health.
Reading my story and the resources in this blog will bring you comfort and support and allow you to explore new ways to navigate and thrive in this situation.
